Last Day of School!

Last Friday was the last day of our current school year. I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to get to know these kids and be their teacher. There isn’t a single one I wouldn’t love to take home with me. I absolutely, absolutely adored them!

When I began teaching preschool, I was terrified. I was sure that I didn’t have the patience or the motherly instincts to care for, love and educate 6 year-olds. Honestly, now I can’t imagine doing anything else! I truly feel that my quality of life is immensely greater because of these kids. The things that they say and do blow my mind. It’s hard for me to wrap my head around letting them go and embracing an entire new set of kids- tomorrow morning!

Here are a few photographs from the last day of school. I’m already missing these babes like crazy. Enjoy!

I love this photograph because it so perfectly represents little Korean girls. In Korea, women cover their mouths when they laugh. Both girls and boys get perms on a regular basis, which they call “Permaaaa, permaaaa.” Shiney had just gotten her perma the night before the picture was taken. Pin the permed hair back with big, gaudy, furry bows and you know you’re in Korea.
