It dominates the Taipei skyline and dwarfs every other structure as far as the eye can see. It towers over a city that boasts very few buildings over even 10 stories tall. Taipei 101 if the defining visual symbol of the city and, I would venture to say the country as well.
You have to do it, right? You can’t possibly say you’ve spent over a month in Taipei but have not visited the landmark building, which boasted the title of tallest building in the world for nearly 6 years. Sure, it’s touristy, there are long lines, but, overall, it’s a pretty painless experience. I was lucky enough to visit when the skies were blue, the sun was shining and the views were excellent.
