After falling in love with Thailand, I was super excited to try our neighborhood Thai Restaurant, Little Elephant. It was charming, cozy and authentic. Chang Beer was 1+1 (awesome!). The Tom Kha Gai, my favorite dish from Thailand, was fantastic. Tom Kha Gai is a coconut milk, chicken, lemongrass, spicy Thai soup. I also had the pineapple fried rice. While not nearly as good as on the beach in Phuket, it was head and shoulders above most Korean offerings.
A hand-written note was tucked in the back of each menu, sealing the deal. I can’t wait to go back.
I should also mention that I’m not particularly a fan of Korean food. Korean bbq is everywhere; it’s super cheap and you get lots of food. However, as someone who does not love meat and can’t handle spicy foods, grilling meat at my table and eating it with spicy sauces isn’t exactly my cup of tea. So, I have a bit of a bias towards loving any non-Korean food in Korea.
