While most of Seoul may be overflowing with towering skyscraper apartment buildings, streets glowing with strip after strip of neon lights and barbecue joints where the soju flows freer than water, Jeongneung is not. Nestled at the foot of Mount Bukhansan, just north-east of the city center, Jeongneung is a quiet, primarily residential neighborhood. Despite its shortcomings in public transportation (no subway stop?!) I am thankful to call this hood my home for the next 9 months.
This photograph was taken from the roof of our 6-story apartment building a few weeks ago.
